Please help us keep this subreddit focused on Game Design. If this post does not belong here, it should be reported or removed. R/GameDesign is a community ONLY about Game Design, NOT Game Development in general. It's about the theory and crafting of systems, mechanics, and rulesets in games. Game Design is a subset of Game Development that concerns itself with WHY games are made the way they are. This is why you need to study some beginner resources. I mean that if I take your post as a best effort attempt at actually receiving help, rather than it being you worrying more about sounding smart, you have demonstrated that you have absolutely no knowledge of games or programming, as in they are wholly foreign concepts to you. You have demonstrated zero knowledge of game design/development and programming, so (with what you've given us to work with) I can only recommend checking out r/gamedev's wiki for some beginner's resources.ĮDIT: I just thought I should clarify a bit, when I said "demonstrated zero knowledge" I didn't mean "have not demonstrated any knowledge", because that would be fine.

THE AMAZING MAZE GAME HOW TO

It really seems like you just want to learn how to make a game like Pacman, but were too embarrassed to ask such a simple question as "How do I make Pacman?". This makes your description of abstraction worse than useless as an example. Also abstraction (as you explain it) is a concept that exists completely independent of computers and games, but there is a separate concept called abstraction in programming which doesn't match up with your example. In other words, I have no idea what you are trying to ask.Īs far as I know "computational method" is just a clunky way of saying algorithm, and therefor doesn't really fit with what you are talking about. I'm going to level with you this post sounds like it was written by a time traveler from the 1930s who just encountered a Pacman arcade cabinet, and somehow managed to make their way to Reddit to learn about this magical devise they have encountered.
